Two policy researchers from Pew Research Center, Jens Manuel Krogstad and Ana Gonzalez-Barrera, released a comprehensive and very useful summary of the current immigration landscape and the proposals President Trump has made to change immigration policies in the United States.
I will provide the link at the end for the full review, but I will first highlight the major existing U.S. immigration programs and proposals to change them.
VERDICT: This brief and very informational report offers a great summary of the current state of immigration policies and what the proposed changes are. A lot of focus is given to the DACA program in this blog, as it is in the headline news almost daily. However, as is seen in this brief, the DACA program is but one of many immigration programs that the current administration is looking to restrict. It is important to understand the full immigration landscape and the impact the possible policy changes would produce.
