On Friday Trump addressed the nation, saying that our relationship with Cuba would be changing, so that American tourists going to Cuba would not be giving their money inadvertently to the Cuban military. The Cuban military owns most of the 5 star hotels on the island, so tourists staying in these hotels unknowingly help fund the Cuban military. The only real change that Trump announced was that now only people who could afford the more expensive cruises instead of land trips would be able to visit the communist country.
OUR VERDICT: In the end, nothing in our relationship with Cuba has really changed, Trump just made it harder for the less wealthy people in this country to travel to this tropical island 90 miles south of Miami. In the end, this is likely just to hurt the small business owners in Cuba.
