In lieu of recent anti immigration rhetoric from the President, there have been many immigrant worker shortages. ½ to ¾ of all farm workers in the country are here illegally from Mexico, but that does not mean that they are not vital to the country’s work force. The migrant laborers are so vital that analysts have come to the conclusion that without these workers the farms would not be able to subsist. The reality is that they are of the few willing to do the hard and dangerous labor of picking fruit off of high trees and doing arduous repetitive farm work.
Plain and simple without these people there would not be any food, which is something to keep in mind as tensions are growing higher regarding immigration policy.
