A bill was recently introduced in a state legislature which would prevent state money from funding federal immigration programs. This bill is up for serious debate, as many see this as a 'sanctuary state' bill. The legislature has decided not to act upon the bill until further notice, due to its questionable language. Changes are due to be made to the language of the bill so it no longer will be viewed as a sanctuary state bill.
VERDICT: Many agree that a bill of this nature would do much to counter the efforts of the Trump administration to increase deportations of undocumented immigrants. However, if a bill of this nature has a chance of being passed, the language will need to be changed.
